Meet the pieces

Why This Changes Everything

Ditch the crafts that end up in the garbage.

Take ministry to a whole new level — where kids can touch it, hold it, interact with it, and actually learn. These are not paper crafts, not stickers, and not one-time worksheets. They are reusable Bible lesson magnets that keep the story in front of a child long after the lesson is over.

The Old Way

Paper worksheet
  • Cut, glue, color — then it’s over.
  • Torn or lost before the car ride home.
  • Re-buy supplies for every single lesson.
  • In the garbage by Tuesday.

Testify Swag Kids

Pressed 3.5″ magnet
  • Hand-pressed 3.5″ round pieces kids hold and move.
  • Lives on the fridge between Sundays.
  • Reused next quarter and next year.
  • Still teaching years from now.

Touch it, hold it, interact

Every piece is a solid 3.5″ pressed magnet kids pick up, move, and place themselves. The lesson happens in their hands, not just in their ears.

Built to be reused, not thrown away

No paper cutouts, no stickers, no single-use worksheets in the trash. The same set teaches the same story next quarter — and the next year.

Scripture they can see every day

On the fridge, the story stays in front of the family between Sundays. The Word gets touched, moved, and retold until it actually sticks.

Free · the full piece list plus every step, ready to print.

How to use it, step by step.

  1. Step 1

    Choose your hero

Let your child pick the hero magnet that looks most like them. That single choice is what moves the story from 'a boy long ago' to 'someone like me.'

  2. Step 2

    Put it on the fridge

Clear a spot at your child's eye level on the fridge — the surface your family already passes a dozen times a day.

  3. Step 3

    Lay out the field first

Start with the Lion and the Bear, not the Giant. David's courage was built where nobody was watching, and kids need to handle that part first.

  4. Step 4

    Walk to the valley

Add the Pouch, the Sling, and the Five Smooth Stones one at a time, naming each virtue out loud as it goes up: hope, faith, courage, victory, pray.

  5. Step 5

    Face the Giant

Set the Giant across from your hero and read 1 Samuel 17:47 together — the battle belongs to the Lord.

  6. Step 6

Hand it back and let them tell it

Take everything down the next day and let your child rebuild the story and tell it to you. That retelling is the whole point of the kit.

Made for the fridge — that's on purpose.

Every piece is a full 3.5" magnet, ready to go straight on the fridge — build the story one piece at a time, right where the family sees it every day. Turn your fridge into a Bible lesson that keeps the Word alive and seen daily. It's the one surface everyone in the house walks past a dozen times a day, so the story gets touched, moved, and retold between Sundays instead of living in a closet. A locker door works the same way.

The fridge kit is made for the fridge — it lives at kid eye level on the fridge, at kid eye level, where 1 Samuel 17 gets retold on a Tuesday and not just on a Sunday.

Read-aloud storytelling guide

Storytelling Guide

How to tell the Kids Like David story — piece by piece.

A read-aloud script for parents, grandparents, and Sunday school teachers. No prep, no lesson plan. Ages 5 and up · about 10-15 minutes.

Open with this

“Before David ever faced a giant, he faced things nobody watched him face. That is where his courage came from.”

  1. Step 1

    The Lion

    1 Samuel 17:37

Say: “David was a shepherd. When a lion came for his sheep, God helped him and nobody saw it happen.”

Ask: What is something hard you did when nobody was watching?

Do: Place the lion at the far left of the fridge — this is where the story starts.

  2. Step 2

    The Bear

    1 Samuel 17:37

Say: “Then a bear came. Same shepherd, same God, same result. God was building something in him.”

Ask: What is God building in you right now?

Do: Set the bear next to the lion so the child sees the pattern.

  3. Step 3

    The Pouch

    1 Samuel 17:40

Say: “A shepherd's pouch was ordinary. God used ordinary things David already had.”

Ask: What ordinary thing are you good at?

Do: Name one thing the child already carries — kindness, a loud voice, fast feet.

  4. Step 4

    Five Smooth Stones

    1 Samuel 17:40

Say: “Hope, faith, courage, victory, and prayer. Five stones, and he only needed one.”

Ask: Which stone do you need today?

Do: Let the child pick up a real pebble and hold it while you finish the story.

  5. Step 5

    The Sling

    1 Samuel 17:40

Say: “No sword. No armor. Just the thing he had practiced with for years.”

Ask: What is worth practicing even when it feels small?

Do: Swing your arm in a circle once — that is all it took.

  6. Step 6

    The Giant

    1 Samuel 17:47

Say: “Everyone else saw how big Goliath was. David saw how big God was.”

Ask: What feels like a giant to you right now?

Do: Place the giant on the fridge, then place the hero piece facing it.

  7. Step 7

    The Stone

    1 Samuel 17:49

Say: “One stone. The battle was never really about the stone — the battle belongs to the Lord.”

    Ask: Who fights for you?

Do: Say together: the battle belongs to the Lord.

  8. Step 8

    Your Hero Piece

    1 Samuel 17:47

Say: “Pick the kid on the fridge who looks most like you. That is not decoration — that is the point.”

Ask: What would you do if you knew God was with you?

Do: Let the child put their hero piece in the center and keep it there all week.

Close in prayer

“God, thank You for the lions and bears nobody sees. Make us brave in the small things so we are ready for the big ones. Amen.”

Repeat all week

The battle is the Lord's. — 1 Samuel 17:47

Leave the finished story up. The next day, clear it and let your child rebuild the story and tell it back to you.

Every set follows the same six-step rhythm — see how the storytelling magnet kits work.

Why it matters and where it belongs

Why It Matters

Courage is learned before the giant shows up.

Most lessons skip straight to the giant. But David's courage in that valley was built long before anyone was watching — in the field, with the lion and the bear, where nobody clapped. When a child holds every piece of that story in their own hands, they learn the part that actually matters: God was already faithful before the hard day came.

A hero who looks like your child

Boys and girls, ten hero magnets in all, each carrying a virtue from 1 Samuel 17 — hope, faith, courage, grace, wisdom. Kids don't have to imagine themselves into the story. They can see themselves already in it.

The whole story, not just the giant

The lion. The bear. The pouch. The five smooth stones. When kids handle every piece, they learn that David's courage in the valley was built long before anyone was watching.

Screen-free and reusable

Durable pressed magnets made to be handled, sorted, and retold — on the fridge, on a locker door, on any magnetic surface in a Sunday school room. No batteries, no screens, nothing to throw away after one lesson.

Handmade in the Yakima Valley

Designed, printed, and pressed by hand in our small faith-rooted studio in Yakima, WA. Scripture is NIV, NKJV, or AMP and always labeled.

Questions

Kit FAQ

Kids Like David kit — questions parents and teachers ask.

+Who is the Kids Like David kit for?

Ages 5 and up. Younger children sort and match the pieces while an adult tells the story; older children name each piece and explain what it means in their own week. One kit works across a mixed-age room, which is why Sunday school teachers, homeschool parents, and grandparents all use the same set.

+How long does one Kids Like David lesson take?

About 10-15 minutes from the first piece to the closing prayer. The printed read-aloud guide keeps it moving, and you can stretch it across a week by adding one piece a day instead of teaching the whole story at once.

+How is the set displayed?

This set ships as individual magnets — no display board included. Every piece is a full 3.5" magnet made for the fridge, a locker, or any magnetic surface, so the story can be added to piece by piece right where the family sees it every day.

+Do the magnets really stick to a regular refrigerator?

Yes. Every piece is a pressed magnet built for a standard fridge door, and that's the surface we design for: turn your fridge into a Bible lesson that keeps the Word alive and seen daily. Magnetic whiteboards and locker doors work the same way.

+Can we reuse it, or is it a one-time activity?

Reuse it forever. These are durable pressed magnets, not paper or stickers — the same set teaches week after week and year after year, and older kids can teach it back to a younger sibling or class.

+Can I get a bulk quote for a class or ministry?

Yes. Use the quote request form on this page — pick your kit option and quantity and we'll come back with pricing and a timeline. We respond within 3 business days, and once your order is confirmed please allow 7-10 business days for production and shipping.

+What if I need it by a certain day?

Need it by a certain day? Email tsocustomkeepsakes@gmail.com and we'll make sure you can get your order in time. Plan on 7-10 business days, especially for personalized and custom orders, counted from the time you approve your order for shipping. In many cases orders go out faster.

+Can I download the piece list and instructions?

Yes. Every kit option has a free printable checklist PDF in the "What's in the kit" section — the full piece list plus the step-by-step instructions, so you can plan a lesson or check off pieces when your Kids Like David kit arrives.

+What is the Kids Like David magnet set?

It's a hands-on David and Goliath Bible lesson set: you pick the hero magnet that looks most like your child, then add the story pieces — the Giant, the Stone, the Sling, the Pouch, and the Five Smooth Stones. Kids retell 1 Samuel 17 by moving the pieces themselves.

+How much does the Kids Like David set cost?

The Bible Lesson Set is $49.99, plus shipping at checkout The Teacher Lesson Set starts at $199.99 by quote. The Lion add-on is $8 more. Sunday school bulk pricing is quoted based on quantity.

There are ten hero magnets — boys and girls with different looks and different virtues from 1 Samuel 17. Tell us which one you'd like on the order form and we'll build your set around it.

+What ages is Kids Like David for?

Roughly ages 3 to 12. Younger kids sort and match the pieces while an adult tells the story; older kids can name each piece and explain what the five stones stand for.

+Is it available in Spanish?

+What is the story of David and Goliath about?

In 1 Samuel 17, a shepherd boy faces a giant no soldier would fight. David takes five smooth stones and a sling, and trusts God rather than armor or size. It is the story children reach for whenever something in front of them feels far too big.

+What age is the Kids Like David set designed for?

Roughly ages 3 to 12. Younger children match the hero magnet to themselves and move the pieces while you read; older children run the nine-step sequence and retell 1 Samuel 17 without help. Sunday school classes and homeschool co-ops teach the same set across mixed ages.

+How many pieces come in a set?

Sets start at a Keepsake Quad of 4 ($32) and go up to a Legacy Vault of 12 ($78). Most families love the Memory Six or Journey Mosaic for the best per-piece value.

+Can I mix magnets and buttons in one set?

Yes — magnets and buttons mix freely at the same per-piece price within a single set. Just tell us the split when you upload.

+What size are the keepsakes?

Every magnet, pinback button, and ornament is a generous 3.5″ round — large enough for faces to read at a glance.

+Can you add a name, dates, or a Bible verse?

Absolutely. Names, dates, scripture references, song lyrics, or short messages can be added on or beneath each piece — included in the design.

+How long does an order take?

Proof within 3 business days, then 7-10 business days after proof approval. Shipping transit time is additional, and local pickup skips transit. Many orders finish sooner, but turnaround isn't guaranteed — holidays, peak seasons, high volume, or heavy customization can extend it. Faster turnaround may be available upon request, and event bookings fill quickly, so reach out as early as you can.

+Do you ship, or can I pick up locally in the Yakima Valley?

Both. We ship across the USA, and local pickup in the Yakima Valley is always free.

+How is shipping calculated?

Shipping options and cost are shown at checkout · local pickup in the Yakima Valley is always free. (Storyboards are quoted separately.)

+What photo quality do I need?

A clear phone snapshot usually works beautifully. We'll let you know during the proof stage if anything needs to be re-sent at a higher resolution.

+What happens to my photos?

Your photos are used only for your order and never shared.
