The Nativity Story, One Magnet at a Time
July 27, 2026·6 min read

Quick answer
Nativity story magnets tell the Christmas story in nine pressed pieces kids can hold, place, and put back in order — from the Angel's Message to Gifts for the King. Each piece carries its Bible reference, so the story gets built on the fridge instead of read once and closed.

There's a particular kind of quiet a kitchen gets in early December — dishes still in the sink, a string of lights half-hung, and a fridge door that's about to become the center of the whole season. That's where this set lives.
The Nativity Story Magnet Set is nine pieces, each one a moment in the Christmas story, meant to go up on that door one at a time. Not a decoration you put up once and take down on December 26th. A story that gets built, piece by piece, by the people who live in that kitchen.
What is the Nativity Story Magnet Set?↑ Top
The Nativity Story Magnet Set is a 9-piece sequence of illustrated magnets — Angel's Message, Joseph Obeys God, Road to Bethlehem, No Guest Room, Jesus Was Born, Good News of Great Joy, They Found Jesus, Follow the Star, and Gifts for the King — each paired with its Bible reference, designed to be placed on a fridge one at a time as a family retells the Christmas story across Advent.
Every piece is a real, produced magnet — not a printable, not a digital download. Kids move them, touch them, and rearrange them, which matters more than it sounds: a story a child can physically build tends to stick longer than one they only hear once a year.
- The Angel's Message
- Joseph Obeys God
- The Road to Bethlehem
- No Guest Room
- Jesus Was Born
- Good News of Great Joy
- They Found Jesus
- Follow the Star
- Gifts for the King
What's included: nine pieces, plus a bonus↑ Top
The core set covers the story from the angel's first announcement to Mary all the way through the wise men's gifts to the newborn King. Every order also includes a 10th bonus piece, "Jesus Is the Reason," built around John 3:16 — a keepsake that stays up after the story's told, as the quiet reminder of what the whole season points to.
This kit gives families 9 days of storytelling. Some use it as a strict one-a-day countdown; others spread it across Advent's four weeks at roughly two pieces a week; some do the whole thing in one sitting on a cozy night in. There's no wrong pace.
How families use it during Advent↑ Top
Most families do one of three things with the set:
- One piece a day, building toward the full Nativity scene by Christmas Eve.
- One piece a week, matching the rhythm of Advent itself.
- A single story night, moving all nine pieces into place in one sitting.
A fourth way: mail it one piece at a time↑ Top
Grandparents and long-distance family have found a fourth use: mailing one piece a week to a grandchild who lives far away, so the story arrives one small envelope at a time instead of all at once.
Ornaments get packed away in January. This doesn't. It's a magnet set, meant for the fridge year-round — not because the Nativity needs to stay up all year, but because "let's talk about the night Jesus was born" shouldn't only be a once-a-year conversation triggered by decorations coming out of a box.

Built the same way as every set in this collection↑ Top
Magnets standard, pinback buttons available. Pressed by hand at 3.5", fridge-first with no board included, built to survive years of small hands finding the star piece first every single time.
Your Photos. Your Moments. Your Story. We press them so they stick around.
How a 3.5-inch photo magnet becomes part of the story↑ Top
Our custom photo magnets are professionally produced as 3.5-inch round keepsakes. They are big enough to actually see the faces in the picture, but small enough to belong on the refrigerator, the filing cabinet at work, or the side of a metal lamp in grandma's bedroom.
You provide the photograph. We help you make sure the resolution, the crop, and the framing honor the moment. Most people send us a phone photo or a scan of an older print, and we walk them through the rest. The keepsake itself does the work after that — quietly, every day, for years.
Moments that whisper are worth remembering. Because moments fade. Love doesn't.
How to start↑ Top
Email tsocustomkeepsakes@gmail.com with a short note about the photograph you want to preserve and the moment behind it. We'll respond with simple next steps — how to send the image, a brief design questionnaire, and information about custom order options.
There is no shopping cart and no checkout. Every keepsake we make begins with a conversation, because every keepsake we make is built around a story.
Your photo. Your story.

Nativity words explained (in parent language)
If a child asks mid-story, here is the short answer you can give without stopping the whole thing.
Nativity
+
The birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, and the scene that shows it — Mary, Joseph, the baby in a manger, and the visitors who came to see Him.
Manger
+
A feeding trough for animals. Because there was no guest room available, Mary laid the newborn Jesus in a manger (Luke 2:7).
Stable
+
The shelter where animals were kept. The Bible does not describe the building in detail, but the manger tells us the family was staying where animals were fed — an ordinary, humble place, not a palace.
Magi (wise men)
+
Travelers from a country east of Judea who studied the stars. They followed a star to find Jesus and brought Him gold, frankincense, and myrrh (Matthew 2:1-11). Scripture never gives their number.
Shepherds
+
Ordinary workers watching flocks at night outside Bethlehem. They were the first people told about Jesus's birth, and the first to go and see Him (Luke 2:8-20).
Bethlehem
+
The small town where Jesus was born. Mary and Joseph traveled there from Nazareth because of a census that required Joseph to register in his family's hometown.
Frankincense and myrrh
+
Two costly tree resins used for incense and for anointing. Along with gold, they were the gifts the magi brought — the kind of gifts given to a king.
Advent
+
The four weeks leading up to Christmas. Many families use Advent to walk through the Christmas story a little at a time instead of all at once on Christmas Eve.
Frequently Asked Questions
What ages is this set designed for?
+
The set works well for preschool through early elementary kids doing the storytelling and moving the pieces themselves, with parents or grandparents reading the short retelling for each day. Older kids often enjoy reading the Bible references themselves.
How many pieces come in the set?
+
Nine core storytelling pieces, plus a 10th bonus piece ("Jesus Is the Reason") that isn't part of the 9-day sequence but is included with every order this season.
When do I need to order by?
+
Need it by a certain day? Email tsocustomkeepsakes@gmail.com and we'll make sure you can get your order in time. Carrier delivery timing is shown separately at checkout.
Can I mail the pieces one at a time instead of giving the whole set at once?
+
Yes — this is a popular option for grandparents and family who live far away. Our companion post on mailing one magnet a week walks through both the notes-only and the weekly phone-call versions.
Are the magnets durable enough for kids to handle daily?
+
Yes. Each piece is a real pressed magnet designed to be handled, moved, and displayed repeatedly across the season and stored for reuse next year.
Is there a guide to help tell the story alongside the magnets?
+
Yes — a free companion storytelling guide walks through all 9 days with the scripture reference, a short retelling, and a discussion question for each piece.
