“I'm Afraid the Photo Won't Look Right” — What We Do Before We Press Anything

September 28, 2026·4 min read

A proof being reviewed on screen beside a pressed keepsake.

Quick answer

You see it before it exists. Every custom order gets a photo review, correction, a round-frame crop, and a proof you approve before anything is pressed. If the proof isn't right, we adjust it. Nothing goes into production on a guess, and you never pay for a keepsake you haven't seen.

This worry stops more orders than price does, and it's a reasonable one. You're handing over a photograph that matters and hoping someone treats it carefully.

So here's exactly what happens to it, step by step.

What We Check First

Before we quote anything, someone opens your photo at full size and looks at it. We're checking whether it holds up at keepsake size, and whether anything needs repair.

  • Resolution and sharpness at 3.5 inches.
  • Light on the face, and whether shadow is hiding features.
  • Color cast — old prints go yellow or magenta with age.
  • Damage: scratches, creases, tape, glare from a framed original.
  • Background clutter competing with the subject.
  • Whether a round crop will clip anything important.

What We Fix

Color correction, contrast, sharpening, glare reduction, and background cleanup are standard. So is cropping and centering for a circle, which is a different decision than cropping a rectangle.

What we won't do is invent detail that was never captured. If a photo can't carry it, we say so before you spend anything.

The Proof

You get a proof showing how the finished keepsake will look. Read it on a real screen, not a text preview. Look at the crop, the skin tone, any names or dates, and the spelling of everything.

If it's not right, tell us what's bothering you — even if you can't name it. "His face looks too dark" is enough to work from. We adjust and send it again.

Only Then Do We Press

Production starts after your approval, never before. Each piece is pressed by hand here in the Yakima Valley and checked for alignment and finish before it's packed.

Your Photos. Your Moments. Your Story. We press them so they stick around.

How a 3.5-inch photo magnet becomes part of the story

Our custom photo magnets are professionally produced as 3.5-inch round keepsakes. They are big enough to actually see the faces in the picture, but small enough to belong on the refrigerator, the filing cabinet at work, or the side of a metal lamp in grandma's bedroom.

You provide the photograph. We help you make sure the resolution, the crop, and the framing honor the moment. Most people send us a phone photo or a scan of an older print, and we walk them through the rest. The keepsake itself does the work after that — quietly, every day, for years.

Across the Yakima Valley

Families across the Yakima Valley have a way of holding tight to the photographs that matter. We hear it from grandparents in Sunnyside, from young couples in Selah, and from churches and ministries gathering in Moxee. Wherever you live in the valley — from the orchard roads of Tieton to the riverfront in Prosser — a keepsake photo magnet can quietly carry your story from one chapter to the next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you send a proof before printing?

+

Yes, on every custom order. Production doesn't start until you approve it.

What if I want changes to the proof?

+

Tell us what's off and we'll adjust and resend. You don't need design vocabulary — plain description is fine.

What if the photo turns out not to be usable?

+

We'll tell you before you order, and suggest a different photo or crop instead.

Will you tell me if my photo is too low quality?

+

Yes, plainly. We'd rather lose the order than send something that doesn't look like the person.
