Yakima Valley Funeral Homes and Memorial Keepsakes: How Timing Works

September 26, 2026·4 min read

A quiet table with memorial keepsakes prepared for a local service.

Quick answer

Services in the Yakima Valley are often held within a week or two of the loss, which is tighter than a standard custom order. Email us the service date first — before the photo, before the count. We'll tell you honestly what can be ready, and local pickup removes shipping time from the equation.

Funeral timing doesn't wait for production schedules. Families here often have days, not weeks, and the question is simply whether keepsakes can be ready in time.

Here's how that actually works, so you can decide quickly and get back to everything else you're carrying.

Lead With the Date

Put the service date in your first email, even if you don't have the photo picked yet. That one detail lets us answer immediately instead of trading messages while your window closes.

If we can't meet the date, we'll say so right away and suggest an alternative — often keepsakes made afterward for immediate family, which many families find they wanted more anyway.

What We Need From You

Three things, and none of them have to be perfect:

  • The photo — the original file, not a texted copy. One photo is enough.
  • A rough count. Plan for more than expected attendance; guests take extras for family who couldn't come.
  • Any wording: a first name, years, or a line of scripture with the translation you'd like labeled.

Local Pickup

We're in the Yakima Valley, which means local families can skip shipping entirely. That's often the difference between making the service and missing it. Ellensburg, the Tri-Cities, and the Lower Valley are all reachable within a day's drive, and we'll arrange a pickup time when we confirm your order.

When the Photo Isn't Great

Send it anyway. Faded prints, photos of photos, and old phone pictures are the normal starting point for memorial work, and at 3.5 inches there's more we can do than people expect.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens" (Ecclesiastes 3:1, NIV). Some of that season is logistics — dates, counts, who is bringing what. Handing one piece of it to someone else is a fair way to get through a week like this.

Moments that whisper are worth remembering. Because moments fade. Love doesn't.

How a 3.5-inch photo magnet becomes part of the story

Our custom photo magnets are professionally produced as 3.5-inch round keepsakes. They are big enough to actually see the faces in the picture, but small enough to belong on the refrigerator, the filing cabinet at work, or the side of a metal lamp in grandma's bedroom.

You provide the photograph. We help you make sure the resolution, the crop, and the framing honor the moment. Most people send us a phone photo or a scan of an older print, and we walk them through the rest. The keepsake itself does the work after that — quietly, every day, for years.

Across the Yakima Valley

Families across the Yakima Valley have a way of holding tight to the photographs that matter. We hear it from grandparents in Zillah, from young couples in Ellensburg, and from churches and ministries gathering in Terrace Heights. Wherever you live in the valley — from the orchard roads of Tieton to the riverfront in Prosser — a keepsake photo magnet can quietly carry your story from one chapter to the next.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can memorial keepsakes be ready in Yakima?

+

It depends on the current queue. Email us the service date first and we'll answer honestly the same or next business day.

Do you offer local pickup?

+

Yes. Local pickup in the Yakima Valley removes shipping time, which matters most when a service date is close.

What if the only photo we have is old or damaged?

+

Send it. Faded, creased, and photographed-from-a-frame images are what most memorial work starts from, and we'll tell you what we can do before you order.

Can we order keepsakes after the service?

+

Absolutely. Many families do, either for immediate family or for a one-year gathering.

Can you put scripture on a memorial keepsake?

+

Yes. Send the verse and we'll set it with the translation labeled — NIV, NKJV, or AMP.
