I Had Four Photos Left From My Childhood. They Changed What I Create Today.

August 7, 2026·5 min read

Four vintage photographs arranged on a dark surface in warm golden light — representing the childhood memories that inspired TSO Custom Keepsakes

Quick answer

TSO Custom Keepsakes began with four photographs. Evee B was kidnapped as a child and never found her way back to the family who loved her, and those four pictures are what remains. That is why she now presses other families' photos into keepsakes by hand in the Yakima Valley.

I was kidnapped as a child.

I never found my way back to the family who loved me.

Today, what remains of that part of my childhood can be held in my hands: four photographs.

Four.

Everything else lives somewhere I can no longer reach. Memories that once had faces, places, colors, voices, and details have softened with time. I can no longer clearly picture my mother's face in my mind.

But there is something time did not erase.

I remember how it felt to be loved.

I don't share that for sympathy. I share it because it became part of the reason TSO Custom Keepsakes exists.

Some Things Are Too Important to Leave to Memory Alone

Your story may look nothing like mine.

Maybe you're a mother whose children are growing so quickly that yesterday already feels far away.

Maybe you're a grandmother watching grandchildren grow through photographs, text messages, and video calls.

Maybe your phone holds thousands of pictures — birthdays, Christmas mornings, first days of school, ordinary Tuesdays, crooked little smiles — and you don't yet know which seemingly insignificant photograph will someday become priceless.

Or maybe what you most want your children to remember isn't simply what happened.

Maybe it's what you taught them. Who loved them. What your family believed. And who God says they are.

Childhood doesn't last forever. Neither do our opportunities to place truth in the hands and hearts of our children.

That Is Why TSO Creates Keepsakes

A photograph shouldn't have to disappear into a camera roll.

A meaningful moment can become something present — a custom photo magnet on the refrigerator, a personalized photo button worn with pride, a coaster on the family table, a keepsake encountered again and again. Something you can see. Something you can touch. Something that helps you remember.

Besides, who doesn't love a well-rounded gift that sticks around?

This is really why the magnets exist at all — not just to hold a photo, but to hold a story long enough for it to get told again. 'We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord' (Psalm 78:4). Every keepsake is a small, quiet way of doing exactly that.

That same belief — that what we repeatedly see and hold can become part of what we remember — eventually led me to create something especially for children.

From Remembering Our Stories to Remembering His

A parent, grandparent, teacher, or ministry leader reads a short Bible story. The child finds the matching story piece. They hold it in their hands, place it on the story board, answer a simple question — and little by little, they build the story themselves.

These aren't simply pictures to collect. They are truths to remember.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. — Romans 12:2 (NIV)

Before children are old enough to understand everything the world will tell them about who they are, we have an opportunity to repeatedly place something better in front of them — God's Word, His promises, His faithfulness, His love.

The pieces don't transform a child's mind. God's truth does. They simply give families a way to return to that truth again and again.

And maybe years from now, when some of the smaller details have faded, a child won't remember every lesson word for word. But maybe they'll remember sitting beside Mom, or Grandma, or a Sunday school teacher — moving those little pieces across a board while someone told them about Jesus.

Sometimes what remains isn't every detail of the memory. Sometimes what remains is what was written on the heart.

I understand that personally. I may have only four photographs left from that childhood. But I still know I was loved.

Through TSO, I want to help families preserve both kinds of things worth remembering — the moments that tell us where we've been, and the truth that helps shape who we're becoming.

Your Photos. Your Moments. Your Story.

And for the next generation: His Word. Their Hands. Truth They Can Carry.

Moments that whisper are worth remembering. Because moments fade. Love doesn't.

Your photo. Your story.
